Emery Cat Scratcher Review
The newest product to hit the "As Seen on TV" market is the Emery Cat. The Emery Cat is a scratching post that claims to safely trim your cats claws while they play. The question is, of course, does it work?
I saw the commercials and wondered this myself so I decided to purchase an Emery Cat and see for myself. I purchase my Emery Cat from the official website here: Emery Cat. The Emery Cat costs $19.95 plus $7.95 shipping. Seems expensive I know, but I figure if it works than it's more than worth it! Plus you get 2 Emery Cats!
After about a week or so, I receive my Emery Cat scratch board. It comes with more than I expected. I got 2 Emery Cat scratching boards with catnip and cat toys. I also got the free bonus deshedder tool.
After opening the box, I had it set up in a matter of minutes. I decided not to use the cat toy attachment because my fat cat has a tendency to eat feathers. So now for the moment of truth, will the cats even care?
The cats were very curious about their new Emery Cat! They walked over immediately and sniffed it. They smelled the catnip alright! To my amazement, Pepper started scratching her claws. Could it really be that easy?! After a few moments, both cats had taken turns scratching their claws on the board. Pepper then decided to lie down and take a little cat nap on it.
I am pretty impressed with the Emery Cat so far. The cats seem to like it and it is not shedding apart like the cardboard cat scratchers do. I will update in a few days on how it works out!
* Update
Ok, it's been one week since my cats started using the Emery Cat. What is the Verdict? Success!!!
My cats have been using the Emery Cat everyday. They play on it, wrestle around on it, and I have even caught them sleeping on it. They have been scratching it alot. They have not really touched their old cardboard scratcher since I got the Emery Cat either. After checking out the their claws, I notice a definate improvement. It seems the Emery Cat actually is filing their claws down. I can tell they are not as sharp as they were. Overall I am happy with the Emery Cat. It is filing my cats claws and they genuinely seem to like it! I will post some pictures soon! If you would like to get your own Emery Cat - CLICK HERE to go to the official site.
